As a comedian, social media is one of your biggest tools in getting the word out about anything from your new NextUp special to your latest tour dates.
But if you are gigging or on tour (or just not massively into social media), it can be hard to find the time to actually get on Twitter or Instagram and catch your fans at the right moment.
That's why we've put together a few tips to make online promo that little bit easier;
Find the right time to post
According to shareable.co.uk, the best times to post on Facebook are Thurs - Fri between 1 pm - 4 pm, Twitter between either 12 pm - 1 pm or 4 pm - 6 pm and Instagram at lunchtime during the working week.
So if you're looking for the widest reach per post, it's good to aim for those times.
But widest reach doesn't necessarily translate into better engagement. You know your audience better than we ever could, so experiment with different times of the day and see what your fans respond to the most.
Get the conversation flowing
You probably do this already (maybe without even realising it!), but every reply or comment on a post helps increase its engagement and widen its reach. The more comments and likes a post gets, the more likely it is to be seen across multiple feeds.
An easy way to do this is by simply asking your fans and followers a question, or asking for answers or suggestions to something. Instagram stories are great for this and can really help you connect with your fans directly.
Give us a heads up
Now this one isn't groundbreaking, but to give your posts extra reach, be sure to tag @nextupcomedy so we can repost or retweet it whenever you do. We're always happy to promote anything you're working on but if you don't tag us we won't know!
These are just some small tips to help your posts get the widest reach, but if you did want any help, advice or just want to talk through things in more detail, drop us a line at community@nextupcomedy.com and we'll see what we can do to help.
